Pumpkin Pickin and Carving Fun

Our family takes pumpkin picking very seriously.  There is an art to the selection of the perfect pumpkin.  The selection first begins with a hay ride to "scope out" the perfect pumpkin from afar.  From the wagon it becomes a mad dash to claim the pumpkin before anyone else.  Well Cooper and Cate may only be 4 and 2, but when it came to picking out the Perfect Pumpkin, they did not disappoint!

Now its time to head back on the wagon with our find.

Now that the pumpkin has been selected, its time to make some Halloween cupcakes.  Catie was not much help decorating, she was too busy eating all the candy corn.  They did have some competition with Moose watching carefully from the background for any dropped goodies.

Cooper and Catie were very excited for the pumpkin to be carved.  First they looked at pumpkin books to vote for what kind of face the pumpkin should have.  Catie wanted "happy" and Cooper wanted "silly" - no surprise there.  Jeff persuaded them to have a not-to-scary face instead.
